The USS Resolute (NCC-92317) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Centaur-class refit medium cruiser in Starfleet service in the 2370s and 2380s decades.
Service history and disposition[]
The Resolute was built during the Dominion War. Following the war's end, it operated as a science vessel on the edge of Federation space.
In the year 2380, Starfleet Command ordered the Resolute to the Talarian Republic border region when Doctor Leah Brahms was presumed captured by the Talarians. The ship was intercepted by a trio of Talarian vessels led by Hektar, and a brief battle ensued. (ST - Resurgence comic: "Issue 1")
Captain Zachary Solano and XO Luke Sutherland found Brahms only to discover that she was voluntarily working with the Talarians. (ST - Resurgence comic: "Issue 2")
Outnumbered and outgunned, the Resolute was boarded by Talarian soldiers so Brahms and Solano could conduct warp field experiments. Acting on his own, and with the aid of Captain Jono, XO Sutherland masterminded a way to free the ship following the discovery of Talarians pilfering the Resolute's torpedoes. Unbeknownst to Sutherland, Brahms and Solano had disconnected the warp core, leaving the ship unable to go to warp once it was freed. (ST - Resurgence comic: "Issue 3")
Though science officer Ben Westbrook pushed Solano to reinstall the known warp matrix, the captain insisted on his and Brahms' new design. While the new formula did push to the Resolute to unprecedented speeds, it ultimately blew out the engine. (ST - Resurgence comic: "Issue 4")
With a warp core breach imminent and with the warp core fused in place, the Resolute was forced to enact a saucer separation. Staying behind on to oversee the secondary hull, Sutherland flew it into the Talarian warlord Hektar, saving the crew. The primary hull was escorted out of Talarian space by Jono. Returning to Federation space, the Resolute underwent a months-long refit. Taking responsibility, Solano was prepared to resign only to be denied, Starfleet Command ordering the failed rescue mission to be classified. (ST - Resurgence comic: "Issue 5")
In late 2380, the Resolute was instrumental in preventing the attempted Great Awakening of the ancient Tkon Empire. Captain Solano was removed from command, and first officer Jara Rydek was promoted to captain. (ST video game: Resurgence)
