The USS Rigel was a Federation starship, prototype of the Rigel-class heavy scout in Starfleet service in the early 24th century.
Service history and disposition[]
This vessel was named for the star systems that bear the name Rigel. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)
By the 2370s decade, this ship would no longer be in service, having been succeeded in name by a new Akira-class USS Rigel. (TNG video game: Armada II)
