The USS Rutherford (NCC-1835) was a Miranda-class Federation starship active in the late 23rd century, and the third to bear the name.

The Rutherford was one of seven Miranda-class research ships built at the New Edison shipworks. This vessel was commissioned in 2276 and has been in consistent use since then.

Her current commander is Commander Darvi Zora.

This ship and her crew were used in Starfleet Academy bridge crew training simulations for the Class of 2288.

(Game: Star Trek: Starfleet Academy)

This ship was seen in-game with the given name and registry number clearly written on her hull.
Likely named after either Ernest Rutherford, 1st Baron Rutherford of Nelson, known as the "father of nuclear physics", or Daniel Rutherford, a British chemist and physician who is most famous for the discovery of nitrogen.
