The USS Saber (NCC-61900-B) was a 25th century Federation starship, a Saber-class escort in Starfleet service in the 2400s[1] and 2410s[2] decades. (STO - Klingon War missions: "Neutral Zone Diplomacy", "Surface Tension")

History and specifications[]

The original Saber-class USS Saber launched in the year 2370. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)

In the 2400s decade, Starfleet was involved in the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410. Thanks to the Fleet Modernization Program underway at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, the ship's components became interchangeable with Saber-class escorts and its subclasses, and the ship was rated as a tier 2 escort. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

By 2409, the ship's name had been given to the Saber-class escort USS Saber-B. The ship was designed to Deep Space Station K-7 in the Sherman system and regularly patrolled the perimeter of the K class space station. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Neutral Zone Diplomacy")

Starfleet invaded the Kahless Expanse in the late 2400s decade. The Saber was part of that fleet. (STO - Klingon Sector mission: "Welcoming the Federation")

This came to the attention of Lieutenant Commander Mara, stationed in the First City on Qo'noS. She ordered a Klingon Defense Force ship to infiltrate the Kahless Expanse and face Starfleet squadrons in honorable combat. The Saber-B was among the defeated ships forced to retreat. Following the Undine attack on Earth Spacedock in 2410, the Saber was one of the ships that were assigned as permanent patrol around the station. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Surface Tension")

From the year 2410 onward, the Saber-B represented its class in the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interface. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Khitomer Alliance flag officer in, or aligned with, Starfleet, deployed Saber for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", admiralty system)
