The USS Sagan (NCC-75055) was a Federation starship, an Intrepid-class tier 4 light cruiser in Starfleet service in the 24th century. (SA comic: "Renegades"; ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
Around stardate 73XX.6, the Sagan was rated a level 4 battle group light cruiser. It featured room for four officers and slots for five weapons or additional systems. Its deflector shields were rated 475, while the structural integrity field, or hull strength, topped at 630. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
As part of Federation Starfleet operations in the Trexelian Expanse, the USS Sagan participated in the war games conducted by Starfleet and allied vessels from the 23rd and 24th centuries. (ST video game: Trexels mission: "Skirmish")
In late 2373, under the command of Captain Sabrina Stuart, the Sagan was ordered to intercept a Danube-class runabout stolen by the renegade Omega Squad after they fled Earth. The runabout tried to evade the Sagan, but was cut off from escaping with the assistance of the USS Bolivar. However, the capture proved shortlived as both Federation starships were attacked by a Romulan Science-class vessel which knocked both ships' warp drives offline and caused their deflector shields to fail. In the melee, the runabout seized the opportunity to take out the Romulan ship's weapons. The Sagan was quickly able to establish warp power, but Stuart lied that the engines were still off-line and ordered the runabout to be out of sensor range by the time power had been restored. (SA comic: "Renegades")
Later that year, the Sagan was patrolling the Romulan Neutral Zone, on a discrete mission to wait for Cadet Nog and the Omega Squad on a secret assignment in Romulan space, when they detected a Romulan vessel pursuing a Lanora-class scout across the border. Captain Stuart attempted to warn the attacking vessel off, but was forced to fire phasers and a volley of quantum torpedoes to encourage them to withdraw. That allowed the Sagan to take the cadets and a small group of Romulan refugees aboard, and return them to Earth. (SA comic: "The Fall")
