The USS Salk was a Federation starship, a Nebula-class cruiser in Starfleet service in the 24th century.

History[]

This ship was in active service around the year 2377. (ST video game: Armada II)

This USS Salk was named after previous vessels that were in service as hospital ships—the 23rd century USS Salk (NCC-761) in service in the 2260s and the 24th century M'Benga-class USS Salk that entered service on reference stardate 2/8112, and remained active for a couple decades. The Salk was named for a Human doctor and medical scientist of historyJonas SalkWP, discoverer of the polio vaccine. No specific history or definitive final fate was established for this vessel as its name was selected for a ship by the Armada II game developers, and is placed randomly by the game software each time the ship appears.
