The USS Sentinel (NCC-68455) was a Federation starship, an Akira-class cruiser in Starfleet service in the late 2370s decade. (DS9 episode: "Treachery, Faith, and the Great River", PIC episode: "The Bounty")
History[]
The Sentinel docked at Deep Space 9 in 2375. Nog arranged a trade for a surplus graviton stabiliser that the Sentinel crew had for a phaser emitter that Nog had obtained from the USS Musashi. (DS9 episode: "Treachery, Faith and the Great River")
By 2401, the Sentinel had been decommissioned and placed on display at the Fleet Museum over Athan Prime. (PIC episode: "The Bounty")
Splinter timeline[]
In 2375, the Sentinel was caught behind enemy lines during the Dominion War, when her engines failed. Chief Engineer Sonya Gomez managed to repair the Sentinel's warp engines, and in order to expedite their retreat, Gomez adjusted the warp field so that the Sentinel appeared to be a Cardassian vessel to Breen sensors. The Sentinel, or some of its crew, were involved in a time travel incident during the Dominion War which necessitated an investigation by the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight)
