The USS Shepard (NCC-1250) was a 22nd century Federation starship, a Shepard-class light cruiser prototype in Starfleet service in the 2190s decade. (Star Trek Adventures module: Discovery (2256-2258) Campaign Guide)
Service history[]
The Shepard-class was developed by engineers of the Advanced Starship Design Bureau under the Operation Next Step project. The Shepard and its sister ship, the USS Gagarin (NCC-1309), were constructed above Luna in the Sol star system in the Tranquility Base Ship Yards and Copernicus Ship Yards. The pair of prototypes launched on 5 May 2196. Due to a seeming issue with the RCS thrusters, the USS Gagarin launched first. (Star Trek Adventures module: Discovery (2256-2258) Campaign Guide)
