The USS Sistruus was a 25th century Xindi-built Federation starship, a tier 6-rated Sistruus-class escort prototype in Xindi-Reptilian and Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. (STO website: Escalation: T6 Xindi Starships)

The design of the Sistruus was an evolution of the 22nd century Reptilian Contortrix-class warship. (STO - Escalation mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
By the early 25th century, the Sistruus had acted as a last line of defense for the Xindi peoples for a long time. The ship's design was considered aged. It remained nimble and capable of holding its own in combat with newer opponents. The Sistruus and its class specialized in hit-and-run attacks while the larger Xindi-Aquatic dreadnoughts, like the Briostrys-class, performed border patrol. From 2410 onward, the Sistruus represented its class in the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interfaces at Khitomer Alliance shipyards across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Alliance flag officers in, or aligned with, Starfleet, deployed the Sistruus for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
