The USS Stargazer (NCC-82893) was a Federation starship, a Sagan-class vessel in Starfleet service in the early 25th century, commanded by Chris Rios. The quote on its dedication plaque was: "To bring light into the darkness." (PIC episode: "The Star Gazer")

Service history and disposition[]

The new Stargazer took its name from the Constellation-class heavy cruiser[4] USS Stargazer (NCC-2893) that gained notoriety under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the 2330s. (TNG episode: "The Battle")

In the 2400s decade, the Stargazer was the first ship in a new class enhanced with Borg technology. Fenris Ranger and xB Seven of Nine had misgivings about incorporating such technology.

By 2401, the ship had received at least one refit. By that year, Cristóbal Rios served as the ship's captain. He had previously owned La Sirena, now operated by Captain Seven. In the briefing room, Rios kept gold models of this Stargazer, the Constellation-class USS Stargazer and a 23rd century USS Stargazer on a wall display.

Cyberneticist Doctor Agnes Jurati.

In 2401, the Stargazer picked up Doctor Agnes Jurati from Raritan IV in the Beta Quadrant to help investigate a spatial anomaly reported by the USS Avalon. Starfleet assembled an armada around the Stargazer at the anomaly. When Admiral Jean-Luc Picard and Seven had arrived aboard the Stargazer, a massive Borg starship emerged from the anomaly and began seizing control of the ship's systems, which in turn allowed the Borg Collective to affect the nearby armada. Picard executed the self destruct, destroying the Stargazer and liberating the armada. (PIC episode: "The Star Gazer")

This event was turned into an alternate timeline following a time travel incident surrounding Picard, Rios, Seven and others. Captain Rios chose to remain on Earth in the year 2024. Admiral Picard granted Seven a field commission as captain and placed her in command of the Stargazer when they returned to 2401. (PIC episode: "Farewell")

The Stargazer at Jenjor VI.

Captain Seven felt uneasy about returning to Starfleet. When Admiral Picard failed to convince her to remain, Seven resigned to rejoin the Fenris Rangers. Mekara was assigned to the Stargazer as new captain. Picard joined her and the ship for a mission to Jenjor VI, where the original Stargazer had protected the native inhabitants from Romulan interference in 2354. When the Stargazer crew failed to detect lifesigns on the planet, Picard led an away team to the surface. Fenris Rangers Seven and Hiro saved Picard's team when they came under attack.
