The USS Sturgeon was a 23rd century Federation starship, a Miranda-class vessel in service to Starfleet in the 2280s decade.
Service history and disposition[]
In the year 2285, USS Excelsior was scheduled to rendezvous with Sturgeon two days after surveying a previously uncharted planet. (TOS comic: "The Trouble With Bearclaw")
During the rendezvous, Commander Thimon regarded Sturgeon through an observation port aboard Excelsior. The first step of his retirement to Earth was disembarking to the Sturgeon, and he wanted to take in the view of deep space one last time. (TOS comic: "Maggie's World!")
