For other uses, see Syracuse.

The USS Syracuse was a 24th century Federation starship, an Aerie-class[1] colony ship in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade. (ST video game: Armada II)

Service history and disposition[]

This ship was one of a number of vessels named for locations on the planet Earth, including Syracuse, a city in the state of New York on the planet Earth's North American continent. That city was named for an earlier settlementWP in the Mediterranean Sea in Greek history.

Active service[]

Crewman Alfonse Pacelli transferred from the USS Philadelphia to the Syracuse on stardate 40127.8 in 2362. On stardate 40299.5 in the same year, Pacelli left the Syracuse and became a command division officer aboard the Galaxy-class starship USS Enterprise-D. At the time, the Enterprise was still under construction at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. (TNG episode: "Eye of the Beholder")

Pacelli's biography info was derived from a personnel file seen on a computer viewscreen in "Eye of the Beholder". Although some of the scenes where the data was reviewed took place in Counselor Deanna Troi's hallucination, for the purposes of this wiki it is assumed to be generally consistent with real data about the crew that she would be familiar with, and treated as accurate.

In the year 2377, ships of the same type as Syracuse had mission profiles delivering Federation citizens to set up and shore up colonies on class H, class M, class K and class L planets in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. At that time, the Syracuse and other similar vessels operated from standardized Federation shipyards. (ST video game: Armada II)

On stardate 56123.1 in 2379, the Syracuse participated in Starfleet Academy training scenarios under the auspices of Lieutenant Commander Carey. (ST video game: Armada II mission: "Tutorial")

Legacy[]

At some point in the 2380s or 2390s, the colony ship Syracuse was succeeded in name by a Galaxy-class explorer named USS Syracuse, which itself had been retired for some time by 2401. (PIC episode: "Võx")
