The USS Thejal (AGC-6-38) was an Andorian Imperial Guard Sevaijen-class light cruiser starship in service to the Federation Starfleet in the mid-22nd century. It was commanded by Captain Trenkanshent sh'Lavan when it was lost with all hand during the Vertian crisis.
Service history[]
On 20 March 2163, the Thejal was arrived to Rigel V, where it rendezvous with a fleet of Federation and non-alligned starships that were tasked with protecting civilian trafic in the area from attacks by Mute ships.
Six days into the assignment, the Thejal engaged a Mute ship but sustained damage to two of their forward shield emitters, an atmosphere processor and their inertial dampener grid. The Mutes escaped as the Thejal had to effect repairs. Dular Garos of the Malurian vessel Rivgor hailed the Andorian ship offering assistance but Captain sh'Lavan assured him they were able to manage. However, the two of them did concoct a plan to ambush a Mute ship at a nearby rogue ice giant planet.
On 28 March, a Mute ship approached the ice giant but did not retaliate when the Thejal fired warning shots followed by a direct hit which weakened their shields. When the Mutes started to retreat, the hidden Rivgor ascended from the cloud layer of the planet and attacked them. The Mute ship returned fire on both ships, again taking out Thejal's forward shields, but was eventually disabled. Captain sh'Lavan ordered a ceasefire but the Rivgor continued to fire upon the Mute ship and destroyed it. When sh'Lavan confronted Garos demanding an explanation of what happened, he had the Rivgor's weapons mimic the Mute's weapons signature and destroyed the Starfleet ship with the loss of all hands.
