The USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) was an Enterprise-class aircraft carrier in United States Navy service on Earth in the 20th and 21st centuries, named for President Theodore Roosevelt of the United States of America. This vessel may have been succeeded in name by such vessels as the 23rd century Federation starships USS Roosevelt.

Service history[]

In 1995, the Theodore Roosevelt was under the command of Captain Leon Ruszkowski. That year, seven Soviet fighter planes from the recently destroyed Soviet carrier Sergei G. Gorshkov requested permission to land, as they were out of fuel. Captain Ruszkowski allowed them to land after they disarmed. (TNG novel: Ghost Ship)

The identification of the Theodore Roosevelt as Enterprise-class is based on a reference to its similarity to the USS George Washington.
