In the 22nd century, Commander Thy'lek Shran was the commanding officer of the IGS Kumari, first of the Kumari-class battlecruisers. He was a notable officer in the Andorian Imperial Guard, and his friendship with Jonathan Archer helped pave the way for the Andorian Empire's support for the Coalition of Planets. Following the founding of the Federation in 2161, Shran became an admiral in Federation Starfleet and its Andorian Guard branch. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: A Choice of Futures)
The USS Shran (NCC-1413) was a Magee-class starship that took part in the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-2257. (DSC episode: "Battle at the Binary Stars")
Active service[]
In the days leading up to Frontier Day, celebrating 250 years of Starfleet's deep space exploration started with Archer's Enterprise's launch in 2151, the Thy'lek Shran was one of several ships docked inside of Probert Station in Earth's orbit in 2401. The Thy'lek Shran was near the USS Titan-A when retired Admiral Jean-Luc Picard and Captain William T. Riker took Travel Pod 05 to the spacedock to inspect the Constitution III-class starship.
