This ship was used in the elite Klingon Command Academy bridge crew training simulations for the Class of 2290. As such, she was encountered in the Mentrax star system in a simulated mission, in company with the USS Kollmansberger. (TOS video game: Klingon Academy)
- Named for the five American Unites States Navy vessels, themselves named for the four separate Battles of Ticonderoga, but most probably the one in 1775 where the Americans recapture Fort Ticonderoga from the British.

The fan fiction Ships of the Star Fleet lists a USS Ticonderoga (NCC-1844) as an Enterprise (II)/Levant class heavy cruiser, a sub-class that is the most modern version of the venerable Constitution-class starship.
