The USS Tinian (NCC-742) was an Oberth-class Federation starship in service in the 2290s.
In the year 2291, the Tinian, under the command of Captain Bergstrom, suffered engine malfunctions and apparent sabotage and was almost destroyed. However, Captain Bergstrom managed to send a distress signal that was received by the USS Enterprise-A and a rescue team led by Lieutenant Saavik was able to stabilize the ship.
