The USS Vesper (NCC-92109) was a 25th century Federation starship, a Vesper-class tier 2 cruiser and the prototype of its class in Starfleet service in the 2400s and 2410s decades. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Service history and disposition
The Vesper was a modern variant of the venerable Constitution-class and its Enterprise-subclass refit. It was a sister design to the 2390s USS Excalibur (NCC-94547), itself an evolution of the 23rd century Constitution class. The Vesper incorporated design cues of the larger Excalibur-class starship. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Vesper was active during the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410. In the year 2409, the Vesper was one of several tier-2 starships assigned to Deep Space Station K-7. The Vesper patrolled the space around the K class space station and around the orbit of Sherman's Planet within the Sherman star system. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Neutral Zone Diplomacy")
Khitomer Alliance flag officer in, or aligned with, Starfleet, deployed Vesper for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - Delta Rising mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", admiralty system)
Following the Battle of Excalbia on stardate 84999.22 in early 2411, which saw the prominent involvement of hero ships from the Federation's past and present, the Vesper was among the cruisers that received a refit to legendary starship qualifications. (STO - Legacy missions: "Measure of Morality (Part 2)", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
