The USS Volga (NCC-73196) was a Starfleet Danube-class runabout in service in the 2370s and assigned to Deep Space 9. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia)
Service history[]
In 2372, Major Kira Nerys and the pregnant Keiko O'Brien took the Volga to the Gamma Quadrant to survey Torad V. They were injured when an asteroid struck the vessel and a fuel pod exploded. (DS9 episode: "Body Parts")
In 2373, the Volga was going to be used in response to a Dominion invasion and attack on Deep Space 9. (DS9 episode: "By Inferno's Light")
In 2375, Chief Miles O'Brien and Constable Odo took the Volga to attend a conference. While entering the Bajor system on their return trip they encountered Laas and brought him back to the station. (DS9 episode: "Chimera"; DS9 novel: Ascendance)
In December, 2377, the Volga was crewed by Lieutenant Rey Alfonzo and Ensign José Chavez who coordinated with the runabout USS Platte in attempting to intercept the Ascendant Raiq to prevent her from entering the Bajoran wormhole. (DS9 novel: Ascendance)
