The USS Wyoming (NCC-43730) was a Mediterranean-class Federation starship in service in the 24th century.

Service historyEdit

Prior to 2349, the Wyoming was under the command of Captain Karl Broadnax, a man with a reputation for stubborness and a confrontational attitude. Broadnax earned the nicknames "Broadsword" and "Battleaxe" from members of his crew, but none ever uttered them in his hearing. (TNG - Double Helix novel: The First Virtue)

In 2349, following the sudden and unexpected death of Broadnax, the Wyoming came under the command of Broadnax's first officer, Leonard James Akaar. The Wyoming rescued Akaar and Ensign Tuvok on a Neltedian planetoid after their shuttle crashed and they were missing for nearly two weeks. (TTN novel: The Red King)

During Akaar's command of the Wyoming, the crew of the starship fought in the Tzenkethi War. (ST - The Fall novel: Revelation and Dust)

In 2355, the Wyoming responded to a distress call from cargo shuttle Nadir, which made an emergency landing on the Rhitorri colony. The Wyoming repelled Skellig raiders besieging the Rhitorri, and crewmember David Capshaw saved his old friend Captain Jean-Luc Picard. To scare off the Skellig permanently, the Wyoming remained at the planet. (STA - Tales from the Captain's Table short story: "Darkness")

In 2374 and 2375, the Wyoming reported numerous casualties after fighting against the Dominion. (DS9 episodes: "In the Pale Moonlight", "Image in the Sand", "The Siege of AR-558", "What You Leave Behind")

On stardate 59844.0 (2382), the Wyoming was part of a combined Federation-Borg fleet massing to combat the ostensibly extra-dimensional Voldranaii. The extra-dimensional invaders were an elaborate ruse created by the Borg Queen, who ordered her ships to eliminate the Federation fleet. The Wyoming took fire from a Borg sphere. (TNG - Hive comic: "Hive, Issue 3")
