The USS Yelchin (NCC-4774-F) was a 32nd century Federation starship, a vessel in Starfleet service in the 3190s decade. (DSC episode: "Coming Home")
Service history and disposition[]
Precursor[]
The USS Yelchin (NCC-4774-E) was the sixth Federation ship to bear the name and NCC registry number. In the year 3069[2], the Yelchin-E was destroyed in the Burn, a galaxywide cataclysm that disrupted the Federation. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)
Commander Michael Burnham, an officer from the time-displaced USS Discovery, investigated the cause of the Burn, aided by the acquisition of the Yelchin-E's black box. (DSC episode: "People of Earth")
Her investigation led to Starfleet come out of hiding when the threat of another Burn was annulled in 3189. (That Hope Is You, Part 2 episode: )
Construction and service[]
Starfleet resumed constructing starships under the administration of Federation President Laira Rillak. In 3190, she opened Archer Spacedock as a Federation shipyard for construction and refitting. (DSC episode: "Kobayashi Maru")
Mission to Earth.
At some point around stardate 865783.7[3], the next Yelchin had entered service.
The Yelchin-F participated in the Federation effort to evacuate Earth before its impending destruction by the Dark Matter Anomaly, which was ultimately averted by Captain Burnham and the Discovery crew. (DSC episode: "Coming Home")
