The USS Yelchin (NCC-4774-E) was the sixth Federation ship to bear the name and NCC registry number. In the year 3069[2], the Yelchin-E was destroyed in the Burn, a galaxywide cataclysm that disrupted the Federation. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)

Couriers trade the Yelchin-E's black box in 3188.

Commander Michael Burnham, an officer from the time-displaced USS Discovery, investigated the cause of the Burn, aided by the acquisition of the Yelchin-E's black box. (DSC episode: "People of Earth")
