The USS Yorkshire was an Icarus-class Federation starship in service in the mid 23rd century. She was commanded by Captain Rodriguez in the early 2240s. In 2244, she fought the Battle of Donatu V to a draw. (TOS novels: Killing Blow, Demands of Honor)

By 2267, the ship had been retired and was part of a traveling display touring the Federation. It underwent a short refit that year, and was declared ready for active duty by Admiral Herbert Solow. The refit was part of a broad program that returned retired Icarus-class and Class J starships to active duty in anticipation of war with the Klingon Empire. (TOS novel: Demands of Honor)
