The USS Zander was a Daedalus-class Federation starship in service in Starfleet in the 22nd and 23rd centuries.
History and specifications
The Zander entered service after the year 2143 and was retired some time prior to 2196.
In 2264, the Zander, along with the USS Lovell and the USS Masao, was retrieved from the Qualor II surplus depot and recommissioned for the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. These Daedalus-class ships were specifically requested by Captain Robert Andreassi, the Corps of Engineers commander. They were then refitted, by the Corps, with many of the latest advances in command, propulsion and tactical systems. (Star Trek Magazine Issue 162: "Blast Off!")
