Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2366, the Zapata was scheduled to rendezvous with the USS Enterprise at Xanthras III. (TNG episode: "Ménage à Troi")

In 2371, the Zapata was under the command of Captain Drake. The Zapata was transporting Admiral Leonard McCoy to the Stugg border when Ambassador Spock was captured by the Romulans. The Zapata met with the Enterprise to drop off Admiral McCoy. (TNG novel: Crossover)

In 2372, the Zapata was under the command of Captain Ishimaki. The Zapata brought Zar, Graal, and Doctor Laffer to Deep Space 9. (DS9 novel: Saratoga)

In 2374, the Zapata took casualties in a recent battle with the Dominion. (DS9 episode: "In the Pale Moonlight")

Commander Nidani Ledrah was assigned to the Zapata out of the Academy for five years. (TTN novel: The Red King)

First Splinter timeline[]

In 2379 (First Splinter timeline), the Zapata met with the freighter, Annabel Lee, to pick up Doctor Beverly Crusher and Doctor Carter Greyhorse, and to take them to a starbase. (TNG novel: Death in Winter)
