The Undine planet killer was a 25th century Undine bioship spacecraft type, a planet killer and capital ship class in service in the 2400s and 2410s decades. Around 2409, they served as the largest and most destructive vessels in the Undine fleet during the Undine War. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Fluidic Destruction")

History and specifications[]

Ships of this type were first encountered in the year 2409, when a number were launched into normal space at the Solanae Dyson Sphere. Such vessels became priority targets for the forces of Dyson Joint Command. (STO video game: Star Trek Online)

These vessels were grown from a larval state in Fluidic Space at special shipyards in the Undine home dimension. As a result of their growing number, Admiral Tuvok and 8472 Counter-Command authorized Operation: Viscous Cycle to destroy the shipyards and end the threat of the Planet Killers. (STO website: "Season 9 Dev Blog #17")

When Allied forces seized control of all Federation, Klingon and Romulan points in the Undine Battlezone of the Solanae Dyson Sphere, the Undine revealed a trio of planet killers. Vice Admiral Chal Rexx of the USS Cheron coordinated the Allied attack on the planet killers, which led to the defeat of the PK Alpha, PK Beta and PK Delta, forcing the Undine to retreat from the zone temporarily. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Fluidic Destruction")

Variants[]

Planet killers were grown in the pods situated in the maw of Undine shipyards. Planet killers in this growing stage were referred to as proto-planet killers. In 2410, a 8472 Counter-Command task force attacked the Bubbling Bay shipyards and destroyed three such hatchlings. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Viscous Cycle")

In the same year, Psi Lord Eric Cooper turned a modified dreadnought into his command bioship. Cooper's bioship was grown like a planet killer in a shipyard. A command bioship was capable of directing an armada of bioships. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Mindscape")
