In an alternate timeline where the Borg Collective overwhelmed the Romulan Star Empire in the 2390s decade, Unimatrix 652 was a Borg space station, a unimatrix with an associated unicomplex based on Romulus in the Eisn star system and active in Collective service into the 2400s. History[]
This timeline was created when the Alpha Quadrant Alliance Krenim temporal weapon ship KIS Annorax fired its weapon to realise Scenario Gamma in the year 2410. In this timeline, the Romulan Star Empire succumbed to a more powerful Borg Collective in 2391.
On stardate 68590.04, the Eisn system was added to the Collective by assimilation.
Unimatrix 652 was constructed in orbit of Romulus from stardate 68590 to 69000.
From stardate 69000 to 70000, in the years 2392 to 2393, all adjuncts of Unimatrix 652 were redesignated into trimatrixes 1152 through 1274. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Butterfly")
In 2410, the Annorax, RRW Lleiset and another Alpha Quadrant Alliance starship arrived in this timeline to investigate if their incursion had neutralized the Iconian threat, and were shocked that the Borg had overrun Romulan space. An away team led by Commander Tiaru Jarok infiltrated a former Tal Shiar facility on Romulus to collect temporal data. They encountered, and defeated, an assimilated version of Colonel Hakeev, here known as Secundus of Borg. After returning from the planet, the flotilla was harassed by cloaking device-equipped Borg spheres and Borg interceptors before escaping the system. The Annorax was able to undo this timeline by erasing a Borg transwarp gate from history. The timeline was restored to nearly the norm it was before the first incursion, except that the Tuterians in the Delta Quadrant failed to incorporate Solanae technology in their defenses, and were assimilated by the Collective as a result.
