United Association Press was a 20th century news organization on the planet Earth.

History and specifics[]

On 17 September 1996, United Association Press released a news article out of China titled "Mystery Commandoes [sic] Steal Advanced Space Ship" following the theft of a DY-100 spaceship from the Jiuquan Satellite Base in the Gobi Desert. Journalist Sarah Jane Smith interviewed several people, including Victor Bergman from Anderson Space Command. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)

Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center^WP is a real-world facility. References to the writer and interviewee were homages. Sarah Jane Smith is a character from the Doctor Who franchise. Victor Bergman is from Space: 1999^WP, a series produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.
