The United States of Africa is a political division of United Earth, a nation-state located on Earth in the continent of Africa. It includes the formerly independent state of Kenya.
History
Starfleet officer Nyota Uhura was born in the United States of Africa in the year 2239. She lived in Dakar, one of the twin capitals of that nation. (TOS novel: The Starless World)
Mandela City, named after the 20th and 21st century South African politician Nelson Mandela, was another of its cities. In 2264, the Irish Harp Festival was hosted in the city. It was attended by Uhura. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)
