The United Systems of Briamos was a 23rd century interstellar state located within the Organian Treaty Zone of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.
History and specifics[]
Five inhabited planets in three adjacent star systems comprised the United Systems. They were rich in natural resources and had a combined population of more than seven billion. The Briamosite's home system included the highly developed worlds Briamos and Niamos. The interstellar state was located at the edge of Federation explored space along the flank of the Klingon Empire.
Leader Sarvus and Vice-Leader Chellea led its government, with final decisions being made by the Council of Greater Briamos. The United Systems maintained an impulse-powered space fleet of at least five warships for mutual defense.
In 2270, the United Systems of Briamos abruptly decided to hold a conference to decide whether to ally with the Federation or Klingon Empire. Officers from the starship USS Enterprise provided Federation representation. The Council verbally agreed to an alliance with the Federation. (TAS - Log 10 novelization: The Slaver Weapon)
