University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh was a learning institute founded in 1583 that was located in Edinburgh, Scotland on the planet Earth. It was still in operation in the 24th century.

History and specifics[]

The time traveling "Professor" Montgomery Scott's cover story for visiting Walter Nichols in 1986 was that he was sent by the university in Edinburgh to study Plexicorp's manufacturing methods. (TOS novelization: The Voyage Home)

By the 2230s decade, Dr. Emanuel Tagore had earned several Ph.D.s during a lifetime of learning, spending some of this time at the University of Edinburgh.

In 2239, Tagore cited the University and other places where he studied when he first met Captain Krenn at the North American Prime Starport in White Sands, North America, at least according to The Final Reflection, the historical novel about Tagore and Krenn's time together.
