A list of unnamed members of the Ajir species.

Ajir and the USS Excelsior[]

An Ajir starship confronted the USS Excelsior when it entered Ajir Empire territory in the year 2285. The vessel was manned by eight Ajir. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part II")

The starship's commanding officer belligerently demanded that Excelsior surrender or be destroyed, yet a quick scan by Excelsior's Lieutenant Saavik showed the Ajir vessel to be no match for them. Playing a hunch, Rear Admiral James T. Kirk agreed to surrender. The Ajir captain brought a boarding party – his entire ship's complement – aboard the Federation vessel. The Ajir captain had heard of Kirk, but said he couldn't kill enemies on the Day of Farf. He ordered the bridge crew into the brig, but didn't know how to activate the force field. When the Ajir captain and his boarding party entered the ship's bridge, they couldn't understand anyone, as the universal translator had been turned off. Assuming Excelsior's backup crew were idiots, they headed back to the brig. The Ajir captain ordered Kirk and his best officers to teach his crew how to operate the ship. Kirk agreed, assigning a senior officer to each of the Ajir. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part One")

The Ajir captain wanted Excelsior to shoot back instead of surrendering. He'd sought combat in order to claim war damages and get Federation aid for his homeworld. After the Grond starship destroyed his vessel, the Ajir captain pleaded for Kirk to help him against the terrifying Grond, because Kirk was famous for saving the universe. The Grond ship was as unpowered as the Ajir's vessel, so Kirk again surrendered, suggesting that the Ajir hide from the Grond in recreation room four. About an hour later, Kirk brought the Grond captain to the rec room. Both sides panicked, and Kirk chastised all of them for not simply asking for help from the Federation. The Ajir captain explained that they were scared of all the warlike races that would try to conquer them if they appeared weak. He liked Kirk's proposed Ajir-Grond treaty, agreed to take a draft of it to his government, and accepted Grond captain's offer to give the Ajir a lift home. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part II")

The Ajir engineer was paired with Montgomery Scott, who explained that one had to be able to disassemble a warp engine in order to comprehend it, and showed the Ajir various components. Scott soon realized that the Ajir lacked practical engineering knowledge, only having learned from their ancestors which buttons to push. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part One")

Ajir science officer[]

The Ajir science officer was paired with Saavik, who described several nonexistent scientific instruments to the Ajir. She concluded that the science officer was "blissfully ignorant" of science. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part One")

Ajir medic[]

The Ajir medic was paired with Doctor Leonard McCoy, who started to show him how a medical test was run. McCoy suddenly yelled "boog booga", and the medic backed away, startled, dropping all of his weapons. The Ajir told him about a childhood fairy tale that teaches Ajir how to look more threatening than they really are. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part One")

Other Ajir[]

Hikaru Sulu tried explaining how various controls worked on the helm, but his Ajir only wanted know where the button was to go forward. He concluded that the Ajir were only familiar with local space, implying that their empire was quite small. Nyota Uhura showed this Ajir how to use her eyepiece Feinberger, but wasn't sure she wanted to know where Ajir ears were.

Janíce Kerasus rebuked her Ajir for speaking rudely while learning about Ajir language, discovering they did not have a word for war despite claiming to be a warrior race.

Konom spoke with his Ajir in the recreation room, trying to learn about the history of their empire. He believed the Ajir had no combat ability whatsoever.

Dahai Iohor Naraht spoke with his Ajir in the galley, learning that Ajir liked to eat furniture. He also learned how hungry the Ajir were on their homeworld. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part One")

All of them hid from the Grond boarding party in Excelsior recreation room 4. (TOS - Double Blind comic: "Part II")
