By year[]
2354, Docked in Spacedock[]
In 2354, an unnamed Excelsior-class starship was docked at the Earth Spacedock when the USS Benjamin Franklin returned from its training mission. (TNG novel: The Haunted Starship)
- This vessel could possibly be the USS Ohio which was featured earlier in the novel and departed soon after the Benjamin Franklin.
2369, Admiral Quinn's ship[]
In the year 2369, this Excelsior-class starship conveyed Admiral Gregory Quinn to confer with Commander William T. Riker and Lieutenant Worf of the USS Enterprise-D on their mission to the Klingon frontier planet, Nothra. (TNG - Shadowheart comic: "The Lion and the Lamb")
2371, Federation delegation[]
An Excelsior-class vessel arrived carrying part of a delegation of Federation diplomats and dignitaries gathered on Deep Space 9 in 2371 to greet Grand Gul Ekhart for a peace summit. The invitation was a ruse, however, resulting from complicity from Ekhart and a terrorist, Gul Shyak, who planned to destroy Bajor and all vistors to the Bajor system with an asteroid containing a protomatter bomb and metagenic weapon seed.
The assembled starships were able apprehend Shyak and Ekhart after a pirate vessel (unnamed pirate transport) piloted by Miles O'Brien and Odo recovered Kira Nerys and Skrain Dukat from the asteroid and detonated the weapon in the Seyom system. (DS9 comic: "Turn of the Tide")
2383, Through the Bajoran wormhole[]
In 2383, an Excelsior-class starship came through the Bajoran wormhole while Construction support station 173 was being assembled in preparation for the construction of Deep Space 9 (II). (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Raise the Dawn)
- This ship could have been the USS Brisbane mentioned in the novel, or the USS Probert to which the sphinx workpod on the cover is assigned.
2385, at DS9 (II)[]
This Excelsior-class starship visited Deep Space 9 (II) in August 2385. Also at the new starbase was the Galaxy-class USS Robinson commanded by Captain Benjamin Sisko. (DS9 - The Fall novel: Revelation and Dust)
By location[]
Deep Space 9[]
An Excelsior-class starship was moored at one of Deep Space 9's upper docking pylons at the same time as a Miranda-class ship made port at the docking ring. Departing the station were the USS Defiant, a Cardassian Galor-class cruiser and a Klingon Defense Force Vor'cha-class starship. (ST reference: Ships of the Line; Ships of the Line 2005)
Sigma Draconis[]
Along with the USS Enterprise-A, an Excelsior-class starship confronted at least three Klingon K't'inga-class ships in what would come to be known as the Battle of Sigma Draconis. (ST reference: Ships of the Line; Ships of the Line 2004)
Starbase 29[]
At some point in the 2360s or early 2370s, this Excelsior-class starship visited Starbase 29. It departed the space station at the same time as the USS Enterprise-D. (ST reference: Ships of the Line; Ships of the Line 2004)
Starbase 122[]
(TNG - Special - Issue 3 comic: "Old Debts")
Trexelian Expanse[]
