The Aegis-class was a type of starship operated by the Federation Starfleet as a cruiser in the 2260s of the alternate reality created by the temporal displacement of the Narada. One notable member of the class was the USS Endeavour, which took aboard James Kirk as its interim captain in 2263.

Specifications

Similar to but smaller than the Constitution class, the Aegis featured a smaller-diameter saucer with a unique triangular promontory under the bridge. Her saucer was a biconvex disc, and the engineering hull and nacelles were mostly similar to those of the Constitution. The neck and nacelle pylons, however, were much smaller, giving the ship a more compact profile and reducing the vulnerabilities that led to the destruction of the Enterprise in early 2263.

At least one unit of the class, USS Endeavour, had a maximum speed in excess of Warp 8.
