Toofa captain[]

The Pakled captain was the commanding officer of the freighter Toofa.

About 19 hours after leaving Balka delivering a weapons shipment to Meska, the Toofa was on its way back to the Soltaris system when they experienced coolant leak and had to slow down. Right then the IKS Tagana decloaked and captured the ship in its tractor beam.

The captain hailed the Klingons claiming they did nothing wrong and were honest Pakled traders. The Klingon captain, Gowron, said he only needed some information, which the captain refused having. Gowron attempted to get to his good side, saying that Pakleds are not stupid, but have knowledge. Still, the captain refused to beam over to them, giving the explanation that they "are Klingon" unable to explain further, as it's difficult to understand. Gowron then suggested to him to come aboard in order to explain why he is unable to do so, to which the captain agreed. He rewarded Gowron with a huge smile, hearing he was a good negotiator.

Once the captain was materialized on the bridge, he was surrounded by Klingons, and shields were raised to prevent his escape. Gowron interrogated him about shipment from the Soltaris system, mentioning Meska, and the captain admitted they provide him with illegal contraband, making Gowron realise that he was one of the sellers of the Romulan assassin probe that was programmed to kill him.

After that, they returned the captain to his ship. (TNG novel: Klingon)

In Star Trek: Klingon, the Pakled's hologram is played by actor Joel McKinnon Miller
