Background[]
The LCARS displays on Picard's desk viewscreen were matted in by the art department using a number of ship names not visible in the final television version of the episode. When the episode was remastered for HD, decades later, the text was re-done with subtle variations to avoid distracting the viewer with some of the joke references of the original. A preliminary draft of the art of the original was shown in the Star Trek: The Next Generation — The Official Magazine from Starlog.
