- See Becker for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.
In 2262, Becker was romantically involved with John Kyle, whom she affectionately called "Blue". He ended the relationship to pursue a starship-based career while she desired a planet-bound life and children.
By 2268, Becker invented ALX-1, a prototype for a new series of robots. To advance acceptance of cybernetic beings while downplaying fears of the Frankenstein syndrome, she gave ALX a clunky appearance and compensated for cerebral design failures of the M-5 computer developed by Richard Daystrom.
In 2268, Becker supervised a seven-day field test of the ALX prototype aboard the starship USS Enterprise. She and ALX beamed aboard from the planet Eando 375, where she reunited with Kyle. During the trip to Starbase 10, she attempted to renew their relationship, but Kyle turned her down. In frustration, she struck him with a sculpture. Because of its devotion, ALX could not implicate her. Fearing it would expose her, however, she aimed a phaser at it. Spock knocked her out with a Vulcan nerve pinch, and she was arrested. She was to get psychiatric care at the starbase. (TOS - New Visions comic: "Robot")
- Becker's height and eye color are those of Jan Shutan, the actor who portrayed her, based on her appearance as Mira Romaine in TOS episode: "The Lights of Zetar".
