According to Khan Noonien Singh, in September 1992 Augment Dictator Asahf Ferris annexed Uruguay into the South American Union. By 1996, it was part of the Ferris Dominion. By the end of 1996, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown. (TOS - Khan comics: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
