Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Hi, I saw your not about mapping Star Trek, there are some pretty advantageous uses of this to create links here. I am not currently able to author custom images right now, this wiki deals mostly in snippets for copyright purposes, but I wonder if some of the book source material has use as a map? I've recently returned to the wiki from a part time phase so i don't quite have a timetable for collaborative work either, but I'd love to try my hand at mapping, its something I've done a lot of here. -- Captain MKB 20:12, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey Captainmike. I'm not actually sure what images will be used in the mapping project, only because the mapping projects haven't been chosen yet. Project participants will choose what the group maps, so no maps would be chosen until after that. You also mentioned not having much time—you could be as involved in this project as you'd like. You interested in joining? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:24, November 16, 2014 (UTC)
I've just activated maps on Memory Beta and tried out the interface. i used a large background image, i suppose i will be challenging the interface a bit with heavy content and sorting it some as i go along. seems pretty cool -- Captain MKB 23:30, November 16, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, it's a cool feature that provides a lot of opportunities for showing content in different ways. I would imagine Memory Beta would have a lot of uses for that, considering how many non-canon Star Trek stories there are. Would you like to join the Fan Studio project? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:31, November 16, 2014 (UTC)
Following up real quick - do you want to join the maps project? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:34, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Star Trek mapping project[]

You can count me in course I don't know if I'll commit to it completely since it's that time of the year and I'm looking for other opportunities.--CC-1990 (talk) 01:14, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

Star Trek Mapping Thing[]

Hello Brandon, your thing sounds like a very good idea. However, I'm afraid I would not be able to contribute due to certain things going on right now, and I would not be able to deal with your thing much. Still, it is a good idea, and I wish you luck in your efforts. --Humanoid21 (talk) 14:18, November 19, 2014 (UTC)
