If you'd like to learn more about working with the nuts and bolts of Memory Beta, here are a few links that you might want to check out:
- Manual of Style: Please be sure to read this before contributing, so you know how to accurately cite your sources, and search the site to make sure the article you want to make doesn't already exist.
- Policies and Guidelines: For a list of the policies and guidelines that we adhere to on Memory Beta.
- Wanted pages: For a list of pages we want most, although any contributions you make are greatly appreciated!
One other suggestion: If you're going to make comments on talk pages or make other sorts of comments, please be sure to sign them with four tildes (~~~~) to paste in your user name and the date/time of the comment.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them in a member's talk page or the community portal. Thanks, and once again, welcome to Memory Beta! --Dr. John Smith 21:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Copying from the STEUEdit
We seriously discourage copying from the STEU and Memory Alpha as they use different template systems and have different goals to what we have. And a copied article from the STEU with no non-canon information and no effort to format it to our style, just seems a bit pointless. --Dr. John Smith 21:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
There's a more correct way to categorize images using the imagesource template, would you mind using it? -- Captain MKB 02:48, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
- Hi HOmesun, just checking if you got my message. I want you to know I'd rather you not code the categories the way you have been. Can you answer? -- Captain MKB 03:08, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
Do not copy text from Memory Alpha. This is your secondwarning since 2007. -- Captain MKB 19:09, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I'm Working Here!Edit
Homesun, it may seem helpful, but please please don't fiddle with pages while I'm working on images for them. It's confusing, and might mess my edits up. Thanks. BadCatMan 14:13, March 20, 2011 (UTC)
