If you'd like to learn more about working with the nuts and bolts of Memory Beta, here are a few links that you might want to check out:
- Manual of Style: Please be sure to read this before contributing, so you know how to accurately cite your sources, and search the site to make sure the article you want to make doesn't already exist.
- Policies and Guidelines: For a list of the policies and guidelines that we adhere to on Memory Beta.
- Wanted pages: For a list of pages we want most, although any contributions you make are greatly appreciated!
One other suggestion: If you're going to make comments on talk pages or make other sorts of comments, please be sure to sign them with four tildes (~~~~) to paste in your user name and the date/time of the comment.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them in a member's talk page or the community portal. Thanks, and once again, welcome to Memory Beta!
I have gone through some of your recent edits and corrected the citations to the proper format that we have established for use here on Memory Beta. Please make sure to adhere to that in the future. If you're unsure of what I'm talking about, please have another look at the "Occupation of Bajor" page (especially its source code, and not just the plain text you see while reading the page) and especially how I altered the citation you provided to fit the correct format. Other paragraphs on that page can also serve as examples on how to cite from other types of sources than just comics, such as episodes and novels. Also, take a look around at how links to Federation starships are formatted to achieve italication of the ship's name or links to disambiguated pages, like "Brian (comic)". Lastly, I know that the way you have done it so far and the way we would like you to do it instead don't look much different from each other when reading the final page, but the templates do help save a few bytes everywhere they're used properly and they help set a unified standard for links. - Bell'Orso (talk) 22:49, December 11, 2017 (UTC)
- (copied over to here from my own talk page, in case you fail to keep track of your edits) I'm assuming you are using the current standard skin for MB. (I am not, and therefor had to view a page as an unregistered user just to check how it looks.) On that skin, you'll notice a small button right next to the "edit" button. That smaller button will open a drop-down menu that has the option to "edit source". That's the one you'll want to use. Also, when commenting on talk pages or forum discussions, please remember to sign your posts like this: ~~~~. Thanks. - Bell'Orso (talk) 21:44, December 12, 2017 (UTC)
