We've noticed that you've made a contribution to our database—thank you! We all hope that you'll enjoy the activities of our community after reading this brief introduction.

If you'd like to learn more about working with the nuts and bolts of Memory Beta, here are a few links that you might want to check out:

  • Manual of Style: Please be sure to read this before contributing, so you know how to accurately cite your sources, and search the site to make sure the article you want to make doesn't already exist.
  • Policies and Guidelines: For a list of the policies and guidelines that we adhere to on Memory Beta.
  • Wanted pages: For a list of pages we want most, although any contributions you make are greatly appreciated!

One other suggestion: If you're going to make comments on talk pages or make other sorts of comments, please be sure to sign them with four tildes (~~~~) to paste in your user name and the date/time of the comment.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them in a member's talk page or the community portal. Thanks, and once again, welcome to Memory Beta! --Long Live the United Earth 23:08, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

External Linking Edit

When you want to link to an external site you put in the address (including the http:// prefix) and put single brackets around it, like this []. As to your other question I'm not really sure what you're asking.--Long Live the United Earth 00:48, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I would suggest saying something about it on the articles talk page, because observations like that don't really go in the article.--Long Live the United Earth 01:16, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Thrax Edit

I took the liberty of moving Thrax for you.--Long Live the United Earth 00:44, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Templates Edit

When you're creating an article could you please use {{USS|Enterprise|NCC-1701-D|-D}} for the Enterprise-D and other Federation starships (though obviously not with the same name) and {{class|Galaxy}} for Federation starship classes, which I noticed you did for the Cardassian classes but not the Federation ones. Thanks!!--Long Live the United Earth 00:57, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Move Edit

Sorry it took me a couple days to respond, but would you like me to move those articles so that you can write the Cardassian articles?--Long Live the United Earth 00:15, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

I moved them the disambiguations are at Tak and Gavron, while the articles you want to write can be written at Gavron (Cardassian) and Tak (Cardassian).--Long Live the United Earth 17:29, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Re:User-created images Edit

Hello, sorry for the very long response time, I've been away and am just getting back into normality at last. We have a page: Memory Beta:Votes for approval of supplemental images, which is used for submitting and voting on images which are not directly and unaltered from a Star Trek source. I'm not sure what the policy is off the top of my head, but my own approach is to always try and find a Trek source before making or finding a supplemental image. For example on the Avatar page there are a number of images used to illustrate the book taken from various other sources, I then created the one of Odo and Laas, as no pre-existing image like that was available.

So when we consider making additional images for Tekeny Ghemor we should ask ourselves, do we need them? My current response would probably be no, as he has appeared in two episodes and thus it is likely we can gather sufficient imagery from his on-screen appearances. However if you can make a case for additional imagery on top of screencaps from those episodes you are welcome to submit an image to vote on the supplemental images page. --8of5 16:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
