The K32-class, a.k.a the V'al'kon-class and Strong Victor-class, was a type of Klingon destroyer starship in service to the Imperial Klingon Defense Force in the 23rd and 24th century. (ST video game: Legacy)

Service history and disposition[]

The K32 was designed to succeed the K30-class, replace losses from the Four Years War, and increase Klingon visibility in newly-acquired regions. In the 23rd century, K32s were built in shipyards based at H'rez and Taamar at a combined rate of 15 type As and 15 type Bs per year.

The K32A entered service in the late 2250s on reference stardate 2/0105. 331 had been constructed as of the late 2280s, with 279 remaining in active service, 2 reserved for training cruises, 33 destroyed, 2 captured in the Triangle, 2 missing, 7 sold to private interests, and 6 in private service to ranking Klingon families.

The K32B entered service in the mid-2260s on reference stardate 2/0710. 240 had been constructed as of the late 2280s, with 199 remaining in active service, 2 reserved for training cruises, 21 destroyed, 1 captured in the Triangle, 3 missing, 10 sold to private interests, and 4 in private service to ranking Klingon families. (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)

Specifications[]

The ship class was powered by type KSLB warp engines, type KIB-2 impulse engines, and protected by type KSJ deflector shields. It was well-armed with 4 type KD-7 and 4 type KD-2 disruptors. It could carry up to 2,100 metric tons of cargo and included one 6-person transporter. These vessels also carried a squadron of Imperial Marines.

The K32B variant upgraded the KD-2s to type KD-4 disruptors but downgraded shields to a type KSD. (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)

A late 24th century variant was equipped with a cloaking device and armed with three pairs of disruptor cannons. It also had four photon torpedo launchers, with three tubes located forward and one aft. (ST reference: Star Trek Legacy Prima Official Game Guide)
