The Valo system was a star system just outside the borders of the Cardassian Union, in the Almatha sector. (ST reference: Star Charts) Valo has at least nine planets, three of which were class M. During the early years of the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor, many Bajoran refugees fled to Valo system. (TNG episode: "Ensign Ro") Bajoran settlements remained there into the 2370s, even after the Cardassians' withdrawal. (DS9 - The Brave and the Bold, Book One novella: The Second Artifact)
