Vanani Manprasad was a human woman in Starfleet in the mid-23rd century. As of 2266, she served as a geologist aboard the USS Enterprise under section chief Robert D'Amato and Science Officer Spock.
In that year, she was assigned to a landing party along with Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu and sociologist Christopher Lindstrom to investigate the ancient ruins on a newly discovered Class M planet. The party accidentally triggered the automated security systems of the building they were investigating, which captured and ultimately killed Manprasad. She had been engaged to be married at the time of her death. (TOS short story: "The Landing Party")
