Var Nysul was a male Payav who served as a security squad leader for the mar-Atyya Synod on planet Mestiko in 2282. When Odra maVolan declared the elections of that year in violation of holy law, Var attempted to shut down the voting, threatening to use deadly force to do so. Starfleet Captain Clark Terrell was able to talk him into dropping his weapon and avoiding a bloody tragedy. (TOS - Mere Anarchy eBook: The Darkness Drops Again)
