The Vashnar were a reptilian race native to the Delta Quadrant.
Sometime after 2268, the Vashnar were visited by the Vians, a race from the Alpha Quadrant, along with the Anjurwan, the natives of Minara II whom the Vians had rescued when their star went nova. Some time after their arrival, the Vians departed, leaving the Anjurwan behind. They were accepted into Vashnar culture, and honored as healers.
In 2374, the USS Voyager visited the Vashnar homeworld, and Captain Kathryn Janeway initiated trade talks with them. (VOY short story: "The Healing Arts")
