Vassili Ivanovitch Chuikov (February 12, 1900 - March 18, 1982) was a general in the army of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics during World War II. He commanded the 62nd Army during the Battle of Stalingrad.

In 1942 Chuikov met the time-lost Pavel Chekov in a Moscow hospital and mistook him for the son of his late brother, Andrew Chuikov. Chuikov conscripted Chekov into the Russian Army. (TOS novel: Home is the Hunter)
