The Velestral colony was a Federation colony.
During the Borg Invasion of 2381, the Velestral colony was attacked by Borg vessels. After the invasion, the Bajoran people launched a relief effort to bring food and medicine to the survivors, an effort that was overseen by Vedek Kira Nerys.
