During a mission, the USS Enterprise received a coded an highly classified and urgent message from the Controller of Venn. This message was encoded and marked for Captain James T. Kirk's eyes only. Not event Lieutenant Uhura was allowed to decrypt it. The contents of the message were as follows:
- KEEP AWAY!
- THERE IS A DEADLY PLAGUE ON THIS PLANET. DO NOT TRANSPORT ANY MEMBERS OF YOUR CREW DOWN HERE OR THEY WILL DIE. PLEASE GO FOR HELP.
