Veranith was a nation-state on Sauria. Its government sat in the Veranith Parliament Building. Citizens of this nation were called Veranith, too. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Tower of Babel)
History[]
Veranith was a long-time rival of the M'Tezir kingdom but had been at peace with the M'Tezir for some years by the 2160s.
When an Orion-engineer plague struck Sauria, the Veranith bowed to the demands of M'Tezir, which held the cure for the epidemic. To receive treatment, Veranith seceded from the Saurian Global League and expelled all offworlders. The Veranith Defense Force assisted the M'Tezir military in escorting offworlders out of Veranith territory.
With Section 31 operative Charles Tucker III and the Human relief worker Antonio Ruiz stealing the cure and sharing it with the Global League, Veranith became the last nation to fall under M'Tezir's reign through the plague stratagem. On a globe in the Basilic Palace of the Basileus of M'Tezir, Veranith's color changed into solid orange after the conquest. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Tower of Babel)
By the 23rd century, New Veranith was a location named after this state. (Star Trek Adventures (RPG) module: Hard Rock Catastrophe)
